πŸŽ‰ As of August 2023, we now support integrating with a single Slack workspace in the same Enterprise Grid! πŸŽ‰

Slack is a messaging app for business that connects people to the information they need. By bringing people together to work as one unified team, Slack transforms the way organizations communicate. Slack helps you work in a more connected, flexible, and inclusive way.

If your team uses Slack to help coordinate interviews (or if you would like to start using Slack in that capacity), then I have good news - you can integrate Prelude with Slack to help supercharge your scheduling needs.

Installing the Prelude Slack app in your team's Slack Workspace

In order to integrate Prelude with Slack, you will need to install the Prelude Slack App in your Slack workspace. You can do this in a few clicks on the Slack settings page.

If your company has not set up a Slack integration before, you should see a page that looks like this:

Click the button "Add Prelude to a Slack Workspace" to start the process. This should take you to a page that looks like this:

Here you can see which workspace the app will be installed to. If it is not the Slack workspace you expected to see, you can choose a different workspace in the upper right corner:

When you are ready, click "Allow" to finish the installation process. This will take you back to the Slack settings page, and you will see a new integration with your Slack workspace:

That's it! Now you are ready to use Slack from within Prelude.

Integrating with multiple Slack workspaces

If your company uses multiple Slack workspaces, you can integrate with all of them. Just press "Add Prelude to a Slack Workspace" again, and choose a new workspace using the workspace picker:

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to install the app using the process described above, it may be due to one of the following reasons:

  1. You are integrating multiple workspaces within the same Enterprise Grid. At this time, the Prelude Slack app supports integrating with only one workspace per Enterprise Grid.

  2. Your workspace owner restricts app installation. By default, any member of a workspace can install an app. However, workspace owners can limit installation privileges. These limitations may include:

    1. Only allowing specific users to install apps

    2. Only allowing apps approved by Slack*

If you cannot install the Prelude app, you may be able to request approval to install the app instead, on the page that opens when you click "Add Prelude to a Slack Workspace". After you receive approval, you will need to restart the installation process described above.

* The Prelude Slack app is currently not approved by Slack and does not show up in the Slack App Directory. At the moment, the only way to install the Prelude app is through the installation process described above.
